THANK YOU!
Thank you for making Lobsterfest a huge success. Nearly 150 people joined us for a beautiful evening on the water. It was the perfect venue to swear in our new HBRAECT President, Dustin Maurice. Thank you, Jim Perras, CEO of HBRA of CT, for attending and swearing in our new President. CONGRATULATIONS Dustin!
I’ve had the honor of serving the organization as President since 2019, and we have celebrated growth and many successes since then. During Covid, we provided our membership with vital information and resources necessary to keep their businesses up-to-date on all industry-related matters and shifted the HBRAECT education and networking opportunities online until it was safe to get back together in person.
It takes a collective effort to make an association like ours viable, and I’d like to thank all of our members, event sponsors, our Event Coordinator, Meg Chapell, and all of the Executive Board and Board members;
Vice President: Pete Battaglio, Hocon Gas
Secretary: Beth Glynn, Chelsea Groton Bank
Treasurer: Jim Williams, T.F. Buxton
Associate Vice President: Gail Grillo, Marvel Home Decorating
Diana Buscetto, Sava Insurance
Patrick Caulkins, Caulkins Homes
Joe Corron, Overhead Door
Lisa Gencarelli, Chelsea Groton Bank

A very special thank you to my family, and my wife, Heather, for all of her support and the many hours she donated her professional services to the organization to help make our events such a success.
I cannot say enough about the value of this organization. Our leadership went to great lengths throughout the pandemic to ensure that our job sites remained open and our employees, contractors, and subs continued to work. The legislative work done behind the scenes is invaluable. Please tell everyone you know who touches the building industry about the value of HBRAECT membership and the positive impact on your business and your family. Please encourage them to join and do their part to help support our industry.
The HBRAECT plays a vital role in our profession, and I hope that each member will find a way to serve the organization that serves you this year. We will continue to monitor legislation that affects your business. We will continue to provide outstanding networking and continuing education opportunities. If you have stepped up in the past, we thank you. If you have not yet, now is the time.
I thank you all for allowing me to serve you as President over the last 3-years. It has been an honor, a joy, and an experience that I will always cherish. I have owned my own design/build company since 1989 and enjoyed reconnecting with old friends, made new friends and connections, and enjoyed growing the organization.
I look forward to continuing to serve on the HBRAECT Board and seeing you at upcoming events! I wish you all a safe, healthy holiday season, and thank you for being a member of the HBRAECT.
Best,
Craig D. Caulkins, Caulkins Homes
